Back in Bergeijk! Gerrit Rietveld’s innovative workshop re-opens as BRUNS DeStijlFactory.

Originally built for Weverij De Ploeg in 1957, Rietveld’s first and only factory is once again bristling with new energy, color and optimism. Under the patronage of the new owner, BRUNS exhibition developers, a skillful renovation carried out by diederendirrix architects was followed by a bold renewal of the interior by Aart van Asseldonk. The young designer reformulated the intrinsic qualities of the details and original ensemble by Gerrit Th. Rietveld (1888-1964), who is rightfully remembered as one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.

To celebrate the re-opening of this monumental building, the exhibition RIETVELD RE_NEWED Design Factory links the old masters of Dutch Design to the most renowned creative designers of today. The exhibition RIETVELD RE_NEWED includes pieces by Martin Visser, Benno Premsela, Wim Rietveld, Richard Hutten, Studio Rens, Sigrid Calon, Bertjan Pot, Studio Job and Maarten Baas. The exhibition is curated by WOTH Wonderful Things magazine in conjunction with the omnipresent Aart van Asseldonk. Open Monday- Friday 9:00- 17:00 with exception of holidays www.rietveldbergeijk.nl
