Suske and Wiske Museum

In the Suske and Wiske museum, visitors themselves go on strip tour. Cartoonist Willy Vandersteen takes children from 8 to 12 years old in his old villa. He lets them playfully discover via an interactive journey how to make a good comic strip. In this museum are learning, experiencing and doing central. In addition to receiving school groups, the museum will also be accessible to private individuals from now. In the Suske and Wiske museum, visitors themselves go on strip tour. In this museum are learning, experiencing and doing central. In addition to receiving school groups, the museum will also be accessible to private individuals from now.
Drawing a new comic goes through nine different zones, which stimulate the imagination and creativity of the visitor. The zones consist of: Improvisation, Villains, (text)balloons, Time machine, Problem, Wonder, Body language, Characters and Atmosphere. All previously shown characters from the various series, periods or storylines of Vandersteen can be used through the visitors.

Bruns has realized the new exhibition in the museum tour and the welcome of Suske and Wiske museum follow the design of Pronk Studio. Visitors enter the former villa of Vandersteen. The reception consists of a counter where the visitor buys the tickets and has the possibility to store his coat and/or bag. When the visitors are checked-in, they are going to the intro zone. In this zone is presented the real storyteller Willy Vandersteen. After the explanation starts the doing-tour in the theme spaces. In each zone discover the visitor a certain aspect or element of a comic strip. Every exhibition element in the room has the appearance of the Suske and Wiske image. 
The visitors write his own story by speaking text, eliminating villains in the game ‘Who is it?’, choosing the correct text in the text balloon, traveling to the right destination by the time machine, reading the problem statement as news massage at the television of aunt Sidonia, searching for answers of different assignments, imitating postures and facial expressions, discovering of various characters and finally putting together the right atmosphere. The story is complete when the visitor pass all the zones. Afterwards, Willy Vandersteen thanks the visitor for helping to write the story. At the reception desk, the story is printed to take home.
